Question 1

How are iPhone prices determined in Pakistan?

Accepted Answer

In Pakistan, an iPhone's market price is primarily determined by four factors: (1) PTA DIRBS tax status — Official PTA-Approved units command a significant premium over Non-PTA Factory Unlocked and carrier-locked JV units because they permanently support all local cellular SIMs; (2) Model generation and variant (Pro Max and Pro tiers vs. standard models); (3) Storage capacity (128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB); and (4) Physical originality — unrefurbished water seals, original display with True Tone, working Face ID, and genuine unboosted battery health (85%+).

Question 2

What is the difference between Official PTA, Non-PTA Factory Unlocked, and JV iPhones?

Accepted Answer

An Official PTA-Approved iPhone has its FBR and PTA customs duties fully paid, allowing both physical SIM and eSIM slots to work permanently on all Pakistani mobile networks (Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone). A Non-PTA Factory Unlocked (FU) iPhone has no foreign carrier lock and works on Wi-Fi indefinitely—and can be officially PTA-approved at any time by paying the applicable FBR tax via DIRBS. A JV (Carrier-Locked) iPhone is tied to an international network carrier and cannot use local cellular SIMs normally without a hardware bypass chip.

Question 3

Which iPhone models hold the strongest resale value in Pakistan?

Accepted Answer

Across Pakistan's secondary mobile market, Official PTA-Approved iPhones with complete original box, matching IMEI on the SIM tray, intact factory water-resistance seals, and 85%+ original battery health consistently retain the highest resale liquidity. Within any generation, the flagship Pro Max series (in 256GB+) and the standard base model in Official PTA condition are the easiest to resell for cash.

Question 4

How do I verify an iPhone's authenticity and avoid scams on BazaarGuard?

Accepted Answer

Always verify the 15-digit IMEI via the official PTA DVS portal or by texting the IMEI to 8484, confirm that iCloud Activation Lock ('Find My') is completely signed out, and inspect True Tone, Face ID, and camera lenses. For complete peace of mind, select 'Book Safe Deal Escrow' on the listing—BazaarGuard holds your payment safely while technicians verify the device's diagnostic report and PTA status before releasing funds to the seller.
